Kids Crabbing
Crabbing on Hilton Head Island has been a tradition for over 500 years which date back to the local Indian tribes and then more recently the Gullah/Geechee after the civil war. Needless to say, it's a tradition here in the low country so come join us on an interactive catch and release 2-hour crabbing adventure that departs from shelter cove marina on Hilton Head Island.
We will only travel in safe, calm and protected waters where we will go exploring the marshes, oyster beds and watch dolphins by boat while in route to find our local blue crab. Once the captain finds his crabbing hole, we will drop our fishing lines and begin the fun. Zero experience required so sit back and let our hands on crew help you and your little ones out. All crabbing customers will be provided a custom rod and reel that's rigged with a piece of chicken for bait. Because crabs have very strong claws to pinch food, we do not use fishing hooks on these rods for added safety.
Crabbing on the Captain kidd is fun and relaxing but can be very competitive! Every crabbing customer will be competing to win our iconic Captain Kidd shirt which is awarded to the crabber who caught the most crabs. For those who got "crabotaged" we have shirts for sale aboard the boat.
